Job/Internship Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the creation of new, and maintenance of existing 2D and 3D CAD drawings and model databases.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  • Creation and maintenance of Engineering SolidWorks 2D/3D CAD drawings and model database.
  • SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling support for Manufacturing Engineering NC programming requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • In the first year of a two-year Associates Degree program in Drafting and Design with strong 2D/3D CAD drafting and modeling skills training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITLIES
  • Requires basic CAD design skills including 2D and 3D experience.
  • Requires basic Microsoft experience.
WORK HOURS
  • Part-time, flexible schedule.  A minimum of 15 – 30 hours per week is expected during the active school year.
  • Work times are flexible, but initially must occur between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday thru Friday. As internship progresses, work times may be considered outside the boundaries aforementioned.
EMPLOYMENT DATES
  • Start spring of 2024.
  • Exit date will depend on the Intern’s performance. The minimum expectation is through the end of the summer 2024 with the potential of working during academic year.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Position requires movement around the facilities.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment.  When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots).  Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
