This non-exempt (hourly) position is responsible for general loan servicing and operational support tasks. Work may involve both retail and commercial loans.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform general loan servicing tasks and provide support to overall loan operations functions, including on-premises responsibilities.

Review daily and periodic exception and action reports to identify items requiring attention and ensure seamless servicing of customer accounts. Mail various regulatory and other notices.

Initiate daily mortgage wire transfers and process check disbursements and other payments as needed.

Complete loan filing duties such as the review and check in of original loan documents, pull paid files, archive files, participate in vault audits, etc. Process incoming payoff paperwork.

Provide support for the ongoing administration of customer GAP cancellations/refunds. Monitor and submit recordable documents for paper and eRecording as applicable.

Daily support of the Indirect Auto Lending channel including file movement, transaction processing, and account balancing.

Daily support of mortgage selling including original document shipping, file check-in and preparation, exception follow-up, etc.

Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.

Input balanced and accurate transactions to customers and general ledger accounts.

Practice and uphold basic loan accounting standards.

Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum one year of banking experience required.

One year of loan operations experience preferred.

Must be professional, comfortable speaking with external and internal contacts with a demonstrated ability to effectively tailor the message appropriately to the audience and situation.

Demonstrated ability to convey thoughts and ideas effectively and succinctly via written formats, including emails, letters, and electronic platforms. Maintain professional standards relating to spelling and grammar.

Maintain credibility through professional demeanor, appearance, and presence by modeling standards appropriate to our environment and industry.

Maintain good working relationships with internal partners by exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills, adopting a constructive, solutions-focused approach.

Use sound professional judgment to balance the interests of the organization and customer, understanding and using available resources to mitigate risks.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products and applications, including the ability to effectively prepare or review documents, procedures, and reports.

Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications, as well as the ability to understand, adapt and adjust responsibilities/workflows as a result of system upgrades.

Knowledge of Financial Processing core systems preferred.

Occasional travel to other First American Bank locations, Bank functions and training facilities may be required.


Typical scheduled hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Additional hours may be necessary upon business needs.
