Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support manufacturing engineers in the resolution of manufacturing issues and provide manufacturing with tools and engineering support to implement new products and process improvement in production.

Responsibilities

    Support manufacturing engineers to determine product flow through manufacturing by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Analyze various product structures and processes to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Perform Ergonomic assessment, complete safety checklists and ensure that process and equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing engineer in the proto build activities, design for manufacturability reviews, development of work instructions, process flow diagrams, process failure mode effect analysis, process capability studies etc.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to analyze work processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Support Inventory Department by setting up layouts, implementing tools, weigh/dimension components, and optimizing layout.
  • Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate and implement technical training for employees.
  • Designs and develops manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, new products and related fixtures and tooling consistent with zero defect level and low product cost.
  • Documents tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts.
  • Helps Production with troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.

Qualifications
  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or a similar field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and Lean concepts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience the AutoCAD and plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment.
