OverviewMicrosoft Commerce and Ecosystems is looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting large scale systems, designing checkout, and pricing experiences and building cost management platforms for our commercial customers and cloud partners across Azure and Microsoft 365. You will also create scalable systems that can handle extensive loads similar to Azure and help us deliver experiences that significantly improve customer satisfaction around cost management. Our cloud platforms are growing faster than ever, and we are committed to providing cost management experience for our customers. Responsibilities Design and develop large-scale distributed software services and solutions.Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.System design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and mentors other engineers across products/solutions, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.Develop "best-in-class" engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable.Consider testability, portability/monitoring, reliability, and maintainability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and delivered.Gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach.
