Pace Industries is seeking College students for a "Full Time Student Intern" program. This position allows college students to gain real world experience in the manufacturing field while collaborating with their studies.

The student will be participating in real work processes or special projects in the following areas:

  • Manufacturing Operations (Students interested in technical careers)
  • Engineering (Students interested in engineering, and or pursuing technical programming careers)
  • Quality (Students interested in quality and statistical control)

The ideal candidates are students interested in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Machining Engineering, CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Programing or CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hands on work in Manufacturing, Quality, Tooling, Process, Robotics, and Engineering
  • Perform cycle time studies and collaborate with operators to optimize standard work
  • Create / Update standard work instructions for CNC operations
  • Job-shadow various employees in our Advanced Manufacturing Group
  • Ask questions and offer input when supervisors deal with more complex problems
  • Learn and understand any regulations related to departmental tasks
  • Help department stay abreast of latest developments in the field and in any changes related to educational practices
  • Assist and work within any other assigned duties

Based on the student's aptitude, they will be able to work and learn in the following specific fields of manufacturing:

  • Automation: Robotics, PLC
  • Maintenance: Welding / Fabrication
  • Toolroom / CNC: Machining / Tool repair/maintenance
  • Quality; CMM /Gaging / Measurement

Position Requirements:

  • Provide proof they are currently enrolled in a four year college currently majoring in engineering.
  • Good communication skills
  • Beginner or intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred)
  • Willing to be flexible in their work duties, and take on new and exciting challenges in die cast operations
  • No experience required
  • Steel Toed Shoes - Student must be willing to purchase steel toed shoes, which are required for their work
  • There is no allowance for transportation, or living expenses
