Overview

Vitro, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for their Wareroom Department at its Carlisle, PA location. The basic functions of this position is to administer, direct and supervise all activities in the Wareroom Department, according to established operating parameters, in order to meet policies and objectives with respect to productivity, costs, safety, housekeeping, customers, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

* This position maintains continuity of operations. Holding to outlined procedures, parameters & has complete authority to act in an emergency in the absence of Management. Is in contact with Manager to discuss safety, production activities, quality, the process, operating procedures, complaints and personnel problems.
* Conducts meetings with all crew employees to monitor their progress, offers assistance, provides information & makes recommendations in problem areas.

* This position oversees performance of manpower and equipment. Visits and maintains adequate communications with Quality Control, Maintenance, Production Control, Shipping, and IT to assure efficient control of operations and to improve performance.

* Maintains a complete and accurate log of all activates occurring within the department, on the shift, such as: speeds, yields, throughputs, quality, and etc. Keep Up-to-Date personnel records for their crew.

* Guides and coordinates activities of subordinates as related to performance of their duties. Delegates to them that degree of authority necessary for this purpose, including: coordinating weekly scheduling and daily distribution of man-power on the shift, conducting periodic reviews and coaching sessions with subordinates, counsels production employees and assists where disciplinary action is required.

Qualifications

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to supervise, train and develop all direct reports and approve schedules
* Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
* Ability to motivate and develop creativity within a team
* Basic personnel knowledge.
* Knowledge of equipment used to increase efficiencies of operations and those most penalizing to quality.
* Initiates changes which lead to general improvement of operations.
* Expertise in computer systems, including Microsoft and data entry systems
* Previous supervisory experience is required

* High School diaploma is required
