Job Description
OverviewThe software defined datacenter team is central to making Azure the most efficient cloud platform. We work closely with the Azure Core Research and Cloud and Infrastructure groups to find improvements in power, cooling, and space usage continuously drive efficiency to support Azure's tremendous growth.We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our team who will be working with power control systems, live telemetry streams, and large datasets to run analyses and make decisions on dynamic power control. You will work closely with other teams on systems to control power and cooling utilization. You will collaborate with engineers across Microsoft to ensure the safety and efficiency of servers running in our datacenters. ResponsibilitiesLead and maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem of engineers.Contribute to efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.Contribute to efforts to collect, classify, and analyze data with little oversight on a range of metrics (e.g., health of the system, where bugs might be occurring).Maintain operations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis.Contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
